Yes, I said we. My 5yo dyed her very first sock yarn with Kool-Aid a couple weeks ago. I'll probably knit this into socks at some point.
Ok, so I did help her a bit, but she did choose the colors and did some of the dyeing herself. The boy didn't want to come along to our dye-along, so I asked him what colors he wanted for his yarn. The answer was blue and orange, so I dyed him this
I've also been doing some of "my own" dyeing, these two are what I have so far, both available in my Etsy-shop.
I've been sewing a bit too, here's a sneak peek on what I'm making
Those yarns are gorgeous!! I wish I knit socks...something I'll have to think about! Can't wait to see what it is that you are sewing, you must post a pic when you are done!

Thanks, I'm really happy with the yarns too! :) The yarn that the girl dyed is kinda, hrm, colorful, but I decided to let her use whatever colors she wanted to. She's quite colorful herself, so her yarn is bound to be it too. :) I'm hoping to finish the sewing today, so I should have a pic tomorrow. :)
ReplyDeleteKivan värikkäitä lankoja olette värjäilleet!
ReplyDeleteSoile - se on varma merkki siitä että sysky on tulossa kun rupee tekemään mieli värjätä värikkäitä lankoja. :)
ReplyDeleteI actually like the blue and orange, especially for a boy! Maybe you could convince him to change his mind on the cell phone cozy colors and use this? I wish I had enough guts to dye some yarn, I have tons of off-white worsted just hanging around...
ReplyDeleteAmybel - thanks for the idea about the cozy. I think I might be able to talk him into making it with this yarn. And I'll probably still have enough left over for a pair of socks.
ReplyDeleteOh, and dyeing isn't scary, just go for it! :)
