I'm so proud of this dress that I could just burst! I made this all by myself, pattern and all! Whee! And it turned out just like I had visioned it.
The girl asked me for a green dress, and a green dress I made for her. :) This dress is what finally convinced my husband too that I can sew, and even think up patterns myself. Wohoo! He even went so far as to say that I just might have what it takes to work in the clothing industry. Not as a designer mind you, I would love to make clothes, but first of all, I would love to go to school, and get an education in sewing and pattern making and everything involved. Oh well, it's good to have dreams, right?
I think I need to make one of these for the tiny one as well, just need to draw up a new pattern for it.
So cute! You should sell them on your etsy shop...I have a five-year-old niece who looooves dresses.
ReplyDeleteThanks Theresa! I've actually been thinking about making a couple dresses for sale, just to see if anyone would buy them. :)
ReplyDeleteThe dress is amazing! You are so talented! Oh it would be wonderful going to school to learn all those things! So much fun! I really believe that we should follow our dreams and do things that make us happy! :)
ReplyDeleteThat's very sweet of you Alexandra, thank you! :) I'll probably start by taking a course in sewing this Fall and take it from there.
ReplyDeleteOH MY!! That dress is DARLING!! you need to sell those in your shop! So, so cute!!

Michele - thank you! If I only had a little "extra" time, I'd sew up a couple of these dresses for sale.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh I love this dress! I love to make up patterns as well, sometimes it's so hard to find exactly what you want in a pattern. I have to make up a Minnie Mouse dress soon for my older girl to wear for Halloween, I cant wait to get the fabric in the mail.
